Come join our Living History Showcase and check out our other yearly offerings!

While our drop off outdoor classes are the core of our school we believe that life is better when we get to celebrate our homeschool community. Our yearly events include Homeschool Field Day, Science Fair, and Living History Showcase. We are looking forward to adding more events to our roster in 2026! Be on the lookout for a headlamp hike, outdoor clothing and gear swap and our first Homeschool Conference!

Community Meet Up: APRIL

Welcome to our monthly community builder! Home education has been the most incredible experience for our family and it has been greatly enhanced by building an incredible community of families to do life beside. The Idaho Outdoor School is going to host monthly meet ups to foster the opportunity of having families come together, give kids a chance to play and have fun one another and see some long lasting community built within the homeschool world! Our meet up is open to any homeschoolers or those considering homeschooling in the valley, you don’t need to be attending our drop off classes!

Our April meet up will take place at Discovery Park in Meridian (2121 E Lake Hazel Rd.) from 10:00-12:00. Our meet ups are geared towards building community and play for kids aged 4-14, however we welcome those outside of that age range! (On a side note, our plan is to offer classes for 13-17 year olds in the next couple of years.) We will have an Idaho Outdoor School sign and canopy up so that you know where to find us. We ask that you encourage your family to find someone to talk to and play with, making sure that we create an inclusive and kind atmosphere.

I am so looking forward to seeing all of your families!

Homeschool Science Fair

Our 3rd Annual Homeschool Science Fair!!

We invite your children aged 4-14 to research, execute and present a science fair project of their choosing! This is an incredible opportunity for our kids to get to practice their research skills, explore their interests and work on their public speaking. Kids will work on their projects at home with their families and on science fair day, bring their presentation and have the chance to talk about what they have learned (if they would like!). We would love to have your family join us to participate or just to observe and learn!

Please use the scientific method of experimentation to complete your project and have the details of the project on your presentation board!

Ribbons will be given out for categories such as: most creative, tastiest presentation, neatest handwriting, longest project timeline, etc. :)

Event Schedule:

4:00-4:30 Presentations
