Government – Exploring Systems & Civic Understanding

Overview:
This engaging class introduces students to various types of government, with a special focus on the structure and function of the U.S. government. Through hands-on activities and interactive learning, students will gain a strong foundational understanding of civics.

Class Highlights:

  • Learn about different forms of government around the world

  • Deep dive into U.S. government, including branches and how laws are made

  • Play acting and group projects bring concepts to life

  • Encourages critical thinking and active participation

Details:

  • Designed as a drop-off program for homeschooled students ages 9-14

  • All supplies and materials included

  • Completely outdoors – students should dress for the weather and be ready to learn

  • Balanced structure with time for both focused learning and peer connection

  • Weekly email recaps detail what was covered in class

Additional Info:

  • No outside work is required, but content can easily be extended at home and documented for charter school submissions

  • Sibling and multi-class discounts of 10% available

  • For all classes, we are going to move all communication to the BAND app. Families will have access to photos and a quicker way to communicate.
