Language Arts – Unit Study Based Writing & Comprehension
Overview:
This class continues our engaging approach to reading comprehension and writing through unit studies, offering students a fun and immersive way to explore different forms of literature and expression.
Class Highlights:
Units on poetry, plays, creative writing, and informative writing
Use of writing samples to inspire and guide student work
Vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation games to reinforce language mechanics
Students will create their own written pieces in each unit
Details:
Designed as a drop-off program for homeschooled students ages 6–12
All supplies and materials included
Completely outdoors – students should dress for the weather and be ready to learn
Balance of learning and social connection throughout the class time
Weekly email recaps keep families in the loop with what’s being covered
Additional Info:
No homework required, but families can build on classroom lessons at home and easily document learning for charter school reporting
Sibling and multi-class discounts available
For all classes, we are going to move all communication to the BAND app, families will have access to photos and a quicker way to communicate.
